AI recommends you
because the rest of the web
already does.
Credible is the third pillar of the P0 Protocol. AI weights how often authoritative third parties mention your brand and in what context. News and licensed media, LinkedIn, Reddit and community signal, expert publications, podcasts, and comparison content. The off-domain work that makes your name keep showing up where AI is reading.
When AI weighs you against everyone else.
AI assembles every recommendation by checking how the rest of the web treats a brand. If a brand only talks about itself, on its own domain, AI weights that low. If trusted third parties consistently reference the brand, AI raises the confidence on every citation.
Credible is the work that produces those third-party signals. News coverage that sticks. LinkedIn presence with substance from the brand and its operators. Reddit threads where people recommend you organically. Expert publications and podcasts that quote you. Comparison and review sites where you're listed alongside the alternatives.
The on-domain rule defines this pillar by exclusion. If the content lives on a URL your brand owns, it's Quotable work. If it lives anywhere else, it's Credible work. LinkedIn posts the founder writes are Credible because LinkedIn owns the surface. The author doesn't matter. The platform does.
Credible is the slowest pillar to compound because it depends on third parties. It carries the smallest score weight for the same reason. But once it starts compounding, it's the hardest pillar for a competitor to displace.
The five channels of credibility.
These are the off-domain surfaces AI weights when judging whether a brand has third-party authority. The mix is tailored to the category. A B2B SaaS brand needs a different channel mix than an ecommerce brand. The principle is the same. Make the rest of the web vouch for you in the places AI is already reading.
Earned coverage in news outlets, plus licensed wire and newswire syndication where the placement is genuinely editorial. AI weighs the domain authority of the citing publication and the recency of the citation. A handful of placements in trusted outlets compounds further than dozens of placements on low-authority sites.
AI cites LinkedIn URLs at high frequency in research-stage queries. Company pages, founder content, employee posts, articles, and newsletters all carry weight because LinkedIn owns the surface and the editorial standard is high enough that AI trusts the source. The work is consistent presence with substance, not occasional company updates.
AI weights Reddit and similar community surfaces heavily because the discussion is unprompted. When buyers ask each other for recommendations, the brands that get named earn a citation footprint AI can't ignore. The work isn't astroturfing. It's making sure the brand shows up in the conversations that already happen, with the substance to be recommended.
Guest posts in expert publications. Podcast appearances where the brand or the practitioner gets named. Industry roundups that quote your team. The author doesn't matter for the on-domain rule. What matters is the platform, and platforms with editorial weight transfer that weight to the brands they feature.
Third-party comparisons and review sites are where AI looks when someone asks for alternatives. G2, Capterra, and category-specific review surfaces for B2B. Trustpilot, Wirecutter, and editorial comparison content for consumer brands. Being listed alongside the alternatives is the entry condition. Being listed favorably is the work. Both are necessary, and most brands are doing neither systematically.
The Citation Network.
The Citation Network is the named function inside the Authority action. It's the operational layer that produces and places third-party content across the channels above, tailored to the brand's category and audience.
The mix isn't fixed. A B2B SaaS brand might lean heavily on G2, expert publications, and podcasts. An ecommerce brand might lean on Wirecutter-style editorial, Reddit, and category review surfaces. The work is selecting the right channels for the brand, producing or coordinating placement, and tracking citation lift against the score.
What the Citation Network is not is a tiered press release product. There's no pay-to-play package list. Every channel is selected for whether AI actually weighs it for the brand's category, and the work is sized accordingly.
Credible is worth 20 points.
The P0 Score is a 100-point measurement across three categories. AI Authority is the smallest of the three at 20 points, not because it matters less, but because it moves slower. Third-party citation depends on third parties, and the protocol is honest about what 90 days of structured work can move on that surface.
It splits into Third-Party Citation Presence (whether trusted third parties are referencing your brand at all) and Review and Social Proof Presence (whether review surfaces, comparison content, and community channels carry the brand). The free AI Visibility Snapshot scores AI Authority as one of three top-line dimensions. The full GEO Audit goes both sub-dimensions deep.
Credible depends on third parties, which is why it moves slower than the other two pillars. The 20-point weighting reflects what 90 days of structured authority work can realistically move, not the long-term importance of the pillar.
The Authority action.
Authority is the action that installs Credible. It runs continuously from month two of the Sprint, alongside Content. The work is selecting the right channels for the brand's category, producing or coordinating placements, and tracking citation lift across the surfaces AI weights most.
Authority compounds slower than the other two actions, because every placement requires a third party. The protocol accepts that constraint and plans against it. We aim for the placements that move AI Authority specifically, not the placements that produce a vanity link footprint.

How brands fail Credible.
Credible failure is the most invisible of the three. The site looks fine. The content is good. AI just doesn't have a reason to weight the brand against the alternatives. These are the patterns that produce that gap.
No third-party citation footprint
The brand has produced great on-domain content but has never been quoted, mentioned, or cited by a publication AI weights. AI sees a brand that talks about itself in a category where the alternatives have actual third-party support.
Dormant LinkedIn presence
Company page hasn't been updated in months. The founder isn't publishing. Employees aren't posting. LinkedIn URLs get cited heavily by AI in buyer-stage queries, and the brand has no signal there while competitors with active LinkedIn footprints get the citations.
Invisible in community channels
Reddit threads about the category never name the brand. Quora answers cite competitors. Hacker News surfaces alternatives. The brand has no organic community presence in the surfaces AI is reading for unprompted recommendations.
Absent from comparison and review surfaces
G2 and Capterra entries are thin or missing for B2B brands. Wirecutter-style editorial comparison content excludes the brand for consumer brands. Category review roundups don't include the brand. AI defaults to the brands that show up in those comparisons.
What comes before Credible.
Credible is the third of three pillars. It compounds the work of Discoverable and Quotable. Without the first two in place, third-party authority lifts a brand AI can't read or quote, which doesn't move the score.
AI can find, parse, and recognize your brand. The technical foundation, schema, crawlability, and entity work that makes your brand legible to AI systems before anyone asks them anything. The precondition for everything else.
